This book begins with Julia and Grayson saying goodbye to two different friends from the modeling world. It shows the truth of that world - anorexia, bulimia, alcohol, drugs and meaningless sex. Julia thinks she is justified in her addictions due to being raped.

Grayson is recovering from a terrible illness. As he is becoming stronger, he plans a road trip down the east coast. Finding Julia drunk and out of it, he decides to bring her along.

These two set out on a remarkable journey of not only discovering what the country has to offer, but discovering themselves, each other, many new friends, and most importantly, what God has in store for them. This book really touched my heart as I read about Julia's healing from the addictions she has put her body through and especially from the hell her life has become. As she grows closer to Grayson and to God she begins to understand that she is special and loved, and not just for her outside beauty.

I couldn't put the book down. I read it in one sitting. It's a very remarkable book and I will treasure it and in all likelihood will read it again and again. It's one of the few Christian novels I've read that gets really down to earth and tells it like it is. Awesome book and I'm sure the other books in the series are just as good.

I think this is the 7th or 8th book I’ve read, and they just get better and better. Please keep writing because I don't want to stop reading and enjoying your books.

I liked taking the road trip with Grayson and Julia which brought good memories of places that I have visited. It does a wonderful job of representing the fun and goodness of the South in contrast with the life of models and the fashion industry in New York.
I was thankful to read all of the journal entries with related scripture from God's Word. This book truly provided a path of how to get free of past harmful life styles and move forward in a life of freedom in God's mercy, grace, forgiveness and most important , living in God's love.

I did as was suggested by other readers and read book number one first. Then read Julia's Journey second. It was a good read on my Kindle. I think I liked book one a little better, but after I got going with this one I was hooked to see what happened. This family is so close and loving and wholesome. My heart ached sometimes for the girls in both books. I couldn't figure out the end of book two, I might of lost something when I was reading it because it was my bedtime read. I just finished book three in this series. Which I also liked. I finally figured out the end of book two by reading book three. I even went back and reread the last part of two. I know I am going in circles but I don't want to spoil any of the books for anyone. My suggestion would be to read the series starting with one. I will mention that there are Bible quotes in each book, which was okay. It didn't get too religious (not that I am not religious) but I wasn't expecting it. Enjoy the read

Ok so at first I thought it started off slow. When it picked up it picked up and went full throttle.
I had read book 1 a long time ago and book 3 is my absolute favorite. I finally gave in and read book 2 and I am so glad that I did. Julia is all about drama. Greyson has such a wicked sense of humor. He is a saint for dealing with Julia. The haunted campground was hilarious although I'm not a spook fan I still laughed. The scene in small world I will totally agree with Julia...purgatory. I loved the epilogue and the way the book was finished.
Definitely recommend. Then rush on and get the next book in the series.

2/13/15 I was lucky enough to stumble upon my favorite book of the year " goodbyes and second chances" unfortunately as of 10/6/15 It has now been replaced. Wow, thank you T.I. Lowe! I am a reading addict, I can read five or six 300 to 400 page books in a week so I read a lot. I thoroughly enjoyed Julia's journey!! One of the most enjoyable aspects of this book was to enjoy catching up with some of my old friends. Characters in books by Ms. Lowe are like friends to me. She makes them so believable and full of life. It was wonderful to see friends from other books. It just made Julia's journey so real and so heart warming. It was awesome to see the relationships Julia and Grayson for not only with themselves with others from other great stories. I cannot wait to read about JP and Willows story. Thanks so much SeLynn

Author P.I.Lowe writes with warmth and wit and honesty. This story was about a couple of models. One a Christian who had disappeared for a couple of years due to illness andJulia who had been raped and was addicted to alcohol and was anorexic. Wonderful story of God’s love and redemption along with a twist here and there. Another winner!

Another beautiful and poignant love story, this one of Suvannah's sister Julia, who suffered the same fate as her sister only that Julia was in love with Evan until he started abusing her and her sister at the same time. But both girls trapped him and wreaked their révenge on him by staging à rape scenario with him and called the cops and was attester for drive and rape and they both heard that he and perished in prison by another prisoner. Which they were happy about as they were not the only underage girls that he had raped. So justice seemed to have been served The most of this story carrys on with Julia and her boyfriend Greyson going on a bucket list of places to visit around thé country which is à way to heal each other. Julia with her drinking and drugs, plus with her anorexia which is slowly killing her. They do become close and love each other until Greyson has après relapse with cancer and almost dies. I think anyone whoa reads this book will have their hearts in their mouths as I did with the uncertainty. A great story and series and so well written. Wells done.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. The story was good and the ending clever. My main issue with this author is that she needs to find a good editor. The writing is mostly good, but there are just too many cases where a word is misused. It wasn't enough to put me off because the story was good, but did get annoying at times. Generally recommended, possibly to more mature readers - but it would be great if it could be fixed up! Clean romance, with a Christian background, but dealing with some difficult issues at times.
